2020 Book Review! Seattle Family Photographer

Guess how many books I read this year…?

Fifty!

I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever read that much in one year before… This is due to two things. One: My kids are no longer toddlers. Y’all, this is a BIG DEAL. If you have babies or toddlers, give. your. self. grace. There will be a time in your life where you can read 50 books in a year, its ok if that is not this year.

Second: hello quarantine. It’s amazing what being stuck in a house for months on end will do.

I get a lot of my recommend books from Mix and Match Mama. Check out her past years top reads for ideas!

My top 5 books of 2020

The Alice Network: Heart wrenching and powerful. About a network of women spies in world war 1.

All The Light We Cannot See: Also heart wrenching and tough to read but really well written. Takes place in world war 2 with two different story lines. I just found out that this will be a movie on Netflix soon!

The Glass Castle: Such a crazy story! This one is also a movie. I highly recommend reading “Half Broke Horse” by the same author as it takes place before this timeline. This book is about a family with two super unstable parents and the insane things they do.

Secrets of a Charmed Life: Another sad but amazing story. Also takes place during world war 2. This is the first time I have actively cried during a book..

Before We Were Yours: Ok also sad (why are all the good ones so sad?) but amazing story about children being stolen and sold into adoption in the 30’s in America.
