We recently moved back to Idaho and I was a little worried about finding family adventure session locations near us. All it took was ONE session and I was hooked on Stanley, Idaho! Logistics of a family adventure session in Stanley, Idaho
How do I plan this?! Easy! If you already have plans to be there just let me know the dates so we can coordinate. Several of my families have been in town already when we throw a session together. You can decide to do the session the first day you get there so you can relax the rest of the time and not worry about tan lines. OR, you can plan it for midway to later in your trip so you get a chance to settle in. My clients tend to be staying at Redfish Lake Lodge or camping while they are up there. I know it seems a little daunting to have family photos while camping but I have seen many families pull it off! I had one momma book one night at the lodge for their shoot so she had a shower and mirror handy.
What do we do during a family adventure session in Stanley?
So many options! I loved this session below because we used two different locations and you can tell how relaxed they were. The first spot has river access. The second spot is in a field. I come with games and prompts to get relaxed and authentic interactions out of your family. Redfish Lake and Stanley Lake are also great spots for playing and views.
Do we drive back to Boise afterwards?
This is the one thing to plan in advance. I have done the 3 hour drive back before and feel ok with it. But it’s good to keep in mind your level of comfort with driving in the dark. There are many deer on that stretch.
