Hurricane Ridge Family Photos

Hurricane Ridge has such a special place in my heart. My family has a cabin and land about an hour away that has been in our family for over a hundred years. I have photos of my grandma and dad in the these mountains when they were my age. I plan this trip around our family gathering so have to be particular about dates for that reason! I had my family photos taken at Hurricane Ridge when my kids were little and I just treasure them.

Why you should choose Hurricane Ridge for your family photos:

This spot is perfect for anyone wanting a family trip to the Olympic Peninsula. The views are just stunning. There is a 360 view of the Olympics and even into Canada. There are also deer and marmots all over. There is a little bit of a hike up a paved path so if that sounds awful to you I have another mountain spot for you 😉. This is not the best spot for toddlers if you have a runner! Here is one of my favorite sessions at Hurricane Ridge.

Port Angeles:

Port Angeles is a great place to stay for a few days. It only takes about 45 minutes to get up the hill and you drive right to the top! Port Angeles also gets you close to Lake Crescent, Forks, and the Olympic National Park. Don’t forget 4th graders get a free national parks pass! You will need one to get into Hurricane Ridge.

What do do in Port Angeles:

I have done whale watching, beach combing, taken the ferry to Canada, and stayed at Lake Crescent so many times. Please reach out if you need any suggestions while staying there! I have spent every summer of my life on the Olympic Peninsula so I know it well! The most exciting development is the addition of Yodelin in PA! If you’re familiar with Leavenworth you may have been there. It’s still one of my favorite meals!
