When my client Amy approached me about doing her maternity session at MT Baker I was THRILLED! Mt Baker is one of my favorite locations and it is especially perfect for a maternity session.
Where is this?
While I won’t share exactly where it is I can give you vague details! This Mt Baker spot is about an hour from Bellingham, WA. There are many airbnbs along the route as well that makes it so easy with kiddos. The North Cascade National Park is one of the most under rated national parks I think! It is way less busy than others even in the summer. Another perk to this MT Baker location is how easy it is to navigate. You drive to the top of the mountain and all the sidewalks are paved. If you want to hike you can, but it’s not necessary.
Are Mountain Maternity Sessions Dangerous?
Not at all! Like I said, you will drive to the top and don’t have to hike if you don’t want to. I do recommend locations like this to people who are used to day trips and hiking. Sometimes the windy roads can be off putting if you’re not used to it. In my opinion epic maternity sessions are worth the drive!
What Should I Wear for My MT Baker Maternity Session?
There are so many different options for a maternity session in the mountains. I personally love going a little “extra” with a rented gown. There are a couple in my client closet but you can also rent one! I love the idea of going all out in epic locations. These will likely be artwork on your wall which is elevated more with an epic dress.
You might notice the kiddos faces aren’t showing in these photos. You can read more about why here!
